The reason why this page exists in this blog is I am using Unicode to write in Myanmar Language — As Unicode is still not widely used by a sizable number of Burmese (Myanmar), you may have problems reading the articles written in Myanmar Unicode if you have not set up your browser properly.
This page includes -
- Browser set up guides
- Download Unicode fonts and keyboards
1. Browser set up guides
- To read the articles and write comment in Unicode
I have configured the blog for you to read the articles in this blog even if you do not have any Unicode fonts in stalled in your machine. A WordPress plugin - MMUnicode Embed developed by Saturngod helped my life easier; that is why you can read and write in Unicode here, without installing any Unicode fonts, in Firefox and Chrome.
If you still cannot see Myanmar fonts; please follow the below step by step guides
- Internet Explorer
1. Go to Tools » Options » Accessibility
2. Uncheck the below two check boxes in case those are already checked
2.1 Ignore font style specified on web pages
2.2 Format documents using my style sheet
- Mozilla Firefox
- Go to Tools » Options
- Choose Zawgyi-One as default font to be able to read the websites using Zawgyi Font
- Click Advanced » Choose Zawgyi-One from “Serif”
- Check “Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above”
- Choose “Unicode (UTF-8)” from “Default Character Encoding:”
2. Download Unicode fonts and keyboards
Please download the Unicode fonts and keyboards from Myanmar Language. FYI, you will need to use a unicode keyboard to comment in Myanmar in my blog.
Alternatively, you can use Zawgyi to Unicode converters — to get Unicode and paste it in comment box.
